Kata Kunci: transportasi, kerugian, investasi/sewa, biaya operasional kendaraan, break even point, payback period, forecasting. viii Universitas Logistik dan Bisnis Internasional ANALYZE VEHICLE COSTS BASED ON VEHICLE OPERATING COSTS (BOK) TO COMPARE BETWEEN RENTAL AND PURCHASE (CASE STUDY: PT SUGIURA INDONESIA) Muhammad Fahmi Yusron Undergraduate Study Program in Logistics Management, Faculty of Logistics, Technology and Business, University of Logistics and International Business ABSTRACT PT Sugiura Indonesia was formed in 2011, more precisely on October 6, since 2011 but PT Sugiura Indonesia started production in September 2013. This company has an area of 49,102 m2 . PT Sugiura Indonesia operates in the field of manufacturing spare parts for motor vehicles. Spare parts made by PT Sugiura Indonesia are nuts. Some of the spare parts made are spare parts such as weld nuts, hub nuts, ordinary nuts, etc. for motorized vehicles, namely cars. Transportation has a crucial role as a link between producers and consumers. Product distribution can be done internally by the company or through external parties such as third party logistics service providers (3PL). Whatever choice you make, you must be able to provide the best service to customers. In this research, it was found that the background of the problem at PT Sugiura Indonesia was that there were cases or incidents that made several customers come to the company to check, which was caused by delays in delivery which had occurred several times which caused losses to PT Sugiura Indonesia with the addition of vehicles to cover the problem. the. As an alternative to reducing delivery delays and losses, it is necessary to increase the transportation fleet, to anticipate this due to a lack of transportation modes. The addition of the fleet needs to be analyzed so that the company's expenses are smaller, therefore it will be seen as whether it is better to buy a vehicle/invest or rent a vehicle. After obtaining the necessary data, vehicle operating costs (BOK), break even point (BEP), payback period and forecasting will be calculated. The difference in costs at PT Sugiura Indonesia between its own and rented fleets is IDR 30,337,100/truck- year. Based on this, the decision taken is to choose its own fleet to maximize the profits obtained. Then it was found that the payback period would occur after 3.4 years, then the break even point would be reached if 674,416 units had been sold or sales of IDR 713,531,324 after doing this, then forecasting was carried out to find out how long it would take for the vehicle capacity to reach maximum limit of the vehicle. Keywords: transportation, losses, investment/rental, vehicle operating costs, break even point, payback period, forecasting.
