In its business process, the company uses the MTO (Make to Order) system, so careful planning of raw material inventory is crucial. The challenge faced by the company is the lack of consumable goods during the production of MAUNG vehicles. This issue arises due to the absence of a tool or method for inventory planning, resulting in production activities being halted because the required materials are not available. There are three types of consumable goods that ran out during production: liquid oxygen VGL/PGS LOX 190 kg, oxygen 6 M3, and sealant black Sikaflex 221. When these items run out, the company only reorders them on a cash basis. In this study, the author employs the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method to plan inventory with the aim of determining the minimum total inventory cost and the optimal order lot size for the future. The initial step involves forecasting demand using the Moving Average and Exponential Smoothing methods. After forecasting, the next step is to test the forecast error from these two methods, selecting the method with the smallest error, which in this case is the Moving Average method. The subsequent step involves calculating MRP using the Lot For Lot and EOQ techniques to determine the order lot size. The final result of this study indicates that the EOQ method is used to determine the order lot size as it yields the lowest total inventory cost. Using the EOQ method, orders are placed three times with each lot size being 9 tubs. The total inventory cost incurred by the company using the EOQ method is Rp 10,764,717.
